Sale Dental Spa
If your gums bleed when you brush, a routine clean will not reach the cause. The Gum Health Programme is five visits over about four months with our dental therapists, Rebecca and Yalda, at our practice in Sale, South Manchester. We measure your gums at the start, treat below the gum line where a clean cannot reach, then measure again at three months so you can put the two side by side.
Not sure where you stand? Your gums are checked at every check-up and every Airflow Spa Clean, and we will tell you plainly what we find.
30 minutes. We map every gum pocket, record your gum scores, take photos and X-rays if you need them, and give you your starting numbers. You go home with a care kit, with brushes sized for you in the chair.
30 minutes, about three weeks later. We measure again so you can see whether what you are doing at home is working, and clean above the gum line. Deep cleaning starts once your home care is there.
60 minutes, with the area numbed. We clean below the gum line, where a routine clean cannot reach.
60 minutes. The same again for the rest of your mouth, so the whole mouth is treated across the two visits.
30 minutes, three months after your last deep clean. Every pocket is measured and photographed again, then set beside your starting numbers, with a plan for keeping your gums that way.
Planning bonding, veneers, aligners or implants? Stable gums come first. The programme can run alongside the rest of your plan, so the new work sits on a sound foundation.

We numb the area for the deep cleans and check you are comfortable throughout. Some sensitivity afterwards is common, and we will tell you how to look after it.
As the swelling settles, gums tighten. Teeth can look slightly longer and small gaps can appear between them. We will show you what to expect before you start.
Partly us and partly you. We clear the bacteria from under the gum, and keeping it clear depends on what you do at home, which is why the second visit checks that before we go further. Either way you will know: we measure at the start and again at three months, and you see both sets of numbers.
The Gum Health Assessment comes off the programme if you go ahead, so the total is £750 either way.
