What is the difference between Over the Counter and Dentist Recommended Products?

Only Dentists are able to use the strongest concentrations of peroxide which they deliver through safe, proven techniques to give you the best results possible.

Products are now available to suit every budget; from whitening strips to bespoke trays. The cost of products will vary depending on the results that can be achieved and the amount of time the Dentist spends administering the treatment for you.

1. Home Whitening Strips (2 weeks’ supply of Whitewash)

These professional strips are the most popular way to whiten teeth in the world and they are available here in Manchester. These adhesive strips are coated with a whitening gel so you simply peel away the strip, apply to your teeth and wear them for one hour and then you can just throw them away! Set the timer on your phone if it helps.

There are 14 sets in the box so you can wear them once a day for 2 weeks or if you are in a hurry and have a deadline to be ready for a party, wedding or special occasion, you can shorten the course to just 7 days and apply them twice daily.

WhiteWash Laboratories’ strips use a dry solution, which makes the strips feel and look like sellotape. If you are comparing this to other brands it is much more adhesive, meaning that the strip will not move during its application and therefore gives you a much more comfortable experience and removes the need to readjust or reposition your strips mid-use. You can also wear them without anyone knowing (although, it might take a couple of goes before you are confident enough to venture outside wearing them!)

The dry solution means the strips work longer compared to other strips, which are only active for 30 minutes (because they use a wet solution). This means you get twice the amount of whitening time using WhiteWash Strips.

2. Home Whitening Custom Made Trays (2 weeks’ supply of Boutique)

How much is Boutique Teeth Whitening?

We offer custom made trays here at Sale Dental Spa for just £250. We have two options available at the Spa for clients, Day Time and Night Time Boutique.

• For the day – This system suits clients who want great results with the minimum wear time.
• For the night – This system is suitable for clients who want great results without the inconvenience of wearing their trays in the day.

If you are not a regular client you will need to have a checkup with us beforehand to see if this treatment is suitable for you.

How long should I apply the treatment?

• Day Time – One hour a day.
• Night Time – The trays should be worn overnight.

What is the length of treatment?

The product is designed to be used over 2 weeks.

3. Home Whitening Custom Made Trays (4 weeks’ supply of WhiteWash)

Using custom made trays is one of the best ways to whiten teeth in terms of the resulting change in your shade of teeth and how long those results last.

If you opt to go for this option, one of our expert team will take an impression of your teeth and then send them to a dental laboratory to create a set of custom-fit trays just for you. This will usually take a turnaround time of between 7-10 days but is worth the wait to have a set of trays that fit your teeth perfectly.

You can choose between a daytime solution, which is worn for 60-90 minutes each day, or a night time solution which should be worn in bed overnight.

The results are the same, regardless of whichever option you take so you need to agree with your Dentist which treatment will fit best with your current lifestyle.

The treatment is fairly straightforward to carry out. Firstly you apply a small amount of the gel to your trays using the syringes provided. You then place the trays into your mouth as instructed by our team of Dental experts, take them out and rinse them under a cool tap when you have finished (Do not use hot or warm water as they may warp the trays to a different shape which may no longer fit closely to your teeth. This process should then be repeated every day for roughly 2 weeks.

Only a very small amount of gel is required, so please follow the Dentist’s instructions. If you apply twice the amount of gel you will not have twice the results and it may increase the risk of sensitivity.

We offer Boutique teeth whitening with custom made trays here at Sale Dental Spa for just £250.

4. Combination Whitening (In office boost with 4 weeks’ at home treatment)

What is Combination Teeth Whitening?

This is a process to maximise your whitening results by providing you with an initial whitening boost followed up by treatment at home.

How long should I apply the treatment?

Your in-office appointment will last 45 minutes to 1 hour. You should then apply your whitening at bed time for between 4-6 hours or in the day for 1 hr 30 mins depending on your lifestyle.

Your treatment should be carried out over 15 days.

How many shades lighter will my teeth be?

Your final shade cannot be guaranteed but if you follow the instructions carefully in your pack then we are sure you will be very happy with your results as many of our patients are!

What is the Length of Treatment?

This is a one day treatment and your in office booster appointment lasts between 45 minutes and one hour.

Your final shade cannot be guaranteed, but if you follow the instructions carefully in your pack then we are sure you will be very happy with your results as many of our patients are!

How Long will the Results Last?

The results of your whitening and how long it lasts are fully dependent on your lifestyle.

You should avoid smoking, drinking red wine or dark coffee, and dark coloured foods like curry if you wish your results to last.

You should also drink a lot of water to keep your smile fresh – some patients use a straw for drinking which helps to keeps their smile white!

6. Enlighten (2 weeks’ home whitening with in office finish)

This is our premium product which aims to give your teeth a B1 shade.

You must book in to have your impressions taken, then they are sent to the laboratory to be made up and are then returned to us in two weeks. Once we have received the trays, you will be contacted and have an appointment to check your trays fit correctly. You then wear them for 14 days at home, then come in for a final 40-minute booster session here at the spa.

How Much is Enlighten?

This premium range product is available at Sale Dental Spa for £595.

How long should I Apply the Treatment?

The product should be applied over night for 14 nights.

What is the Length of Treatment?

This treatment should be applied for 14 nights with an in-office booster on the 15th day here at Sale Dental Spa.

How many shades lighter will my Teeth be?

This product can whiten your teeth by up to 16 shades and is the only system that aims for a B1 shade result.

How Long will the Results Last?

Your results will last indefinitely if you regularly maintain them by wearing your trays overnight every second month. They should also be brushed with serum to prolong the result.
