What it is, and who it suits
Invisalign moves teeth with a series of clear, removable aligners rather than fixed metal braces. Most people will not notice you are wearing them, and you take them out to eat and to brush.
It suits crowding, gaps, and teeth that have drifted back after braces years ago, which is one of the most common reasons adults come to us. Some complex bites need a different approach, and if yours is one of them we will say so rather than force the tool to fit.
Two honest things before you start. Aligners only work whilst you wear them, which means around 22 hours a day, and every straightened smile needs retainers afterwards to keep it that way. Patients who know this going in finish happy.
What happens
Consultation and scan.
An iTero digital scan, no impression moulds, and an on-screen simulation of how your teeth could move.
Your plan.
A written plan with the expected duration and your exact price, confirmed before you commit. Once you go ahead, you review the full digital plan with your dentist in a dedicated appointment, ask for changes, and approve it before a single aligner is made.
Treatment.
You wear each set of aligners as directed and change to the next set on schedule, with reviews along the way to keep movement on track.
Afterwards.
Retainers to hold the result, and if you want to finish the job, whitening or edge bonding once the teeth are in position.

Questions patients ask
How long does it take?
It depends on how far the teeth need to move. Simple cases take months rather than years; your plan gives you the expected duration before you start.
Does it hurt?
New aligners feel tight for the first day or two. That pressure is the treatment working, and it settles.
How often do I wear them?
Around 22 hours a day. Out for meals and brushing, in for everything else, including sleep.
Will anyone notice?
Most people will not. The aligners are clear and sit closely against the teeth.
What stops my teeth moving back?
Retainers, worn as advised after treatment. Teeth have long memories; retainers are part of the plan, not an optional extra.
