Nervous patients

Nervous about the dentist? You are far from alone.

Many of the people we look after arrived anxious, often after years away. There is no judgement here about how long it has been or what your teeth look like. Tell us you are nervous when you get in touch, and we will shape everything else around that.

What we do differently

Built for people who find this hard.

Your first visit can be a conversation

You can come in, sit down and just talk. Nothing happens in the chair until you are ready for it to.

Unhurried appointments

We book the time your appointment actually needs, so nothing feels rushed. We are open until 8pm on Mondays and Wednesdays if a quieter evening slot helps.

The same clinician each time

You see the same face at each visit, so trust has a chance to build. You never have to explain your nerves twice.

You stay in control

Before anything starts, you agree how you will tell us to pause. When you signal, we stop. Every time.

Digital scans, not impression moulds

Our iTero scanner replaces the trays of putty many people dread. A small wand, a few minutes, no gagging.

Easy from the car to the chair

Parking on site, step-free access and a ground-floor surgery. The visit starts calmly because the journey does.

Your first visit

At your pace, in three steps.

1

Tell us

Mention that you are nervous when you book, by phone or in a message. It goes on your file and the whole team knows before you arrive.

2

A conversation first

Meet your clinician, talk about what worries you and what you want, and ask anything. You decide what happens next, not us.

3

Small steps

We start with whatever feels manageable and build from there. Before any treatment you get a written plan with the price, so there are no surprises in the chair or on the bill.

Common questions

Questions nervous patients actually ask.

Will you judge me for not having been in years?

No. It is one of the most common things we hear, and the person telling us is never the only one that week. We care about where your teeth go from here, not where they have been.

Do I have to have treatment on my first visit?

No. Your first visit can simply be a conversation. Nothing is done until you understand it, want it and have the price in writing.

What if I panic in the chair?

You will have agreed a signal with your clinician before anything starts. Use it and we stop, take a break and only carry on when you are ready. Stopping is never a problem.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. Bring whoever helps you feel at ease. There is space for them in the practice, and parking on site for both of you.

When you are ready, we are ready.

Call us and say the words "I am nervous". We will take it from there.
