What counts as an emergency

If any of these sound like you, call us rather than waiting for a routine appointment.

What happens when you call

1

We listen first

Tell us what has happened. We will ask a few questions to understand how urgent it is, and give you advice for the meantime.

2

We find you a time

We do our best to see genuine emergencies the same working day. We cannot promise it every time, but the earlier you call, the better your chances.

3

We get you comfortable

Your emergency appointment focuses on relieving pain and making things safe. Same-day emergency work at the practice is led by Dr Hamza Mirza, our Clinical Lead.

Clear pricing, before anything starts

An emergency appointment is £40. If you need treatment, we price it in writing and talk it through with you before anything begins. No surprises on a day that is already going badly.

Treatment prices are on our Fees and Finance page.

Emergency questions, answered

Can you always see me the same day?

Not always, and we will not pretend otherwise. We do our best for genuine emergencies, and the earlier in the day you call, the more likely we can fit you in. If we cannot see you that day, we will tell you straight away and offer the next available time.

I am not a patient here. Can I still come?

Yes. Emergency appointments are open to new patients, and plenty of people first meet us this way.

How much will it cost?

The emergency appointment is £40. Any treatment you need on top is priced in writing before it starts, so you decide with the numbers in front of you.

My tooth has been knocked out. What should I do?

Call us straight away. Handle the tooth by the crown rather than the root, and keep it moist, ideally in milk. Time matters with a knocked-out tooth, so please do not wait to see how it feels.

What if it happens at night or at the weekend?

When we are closed, call NHS 111 for urgent dental advice. Then call us when we reopen and we will pick it up from there.

In pain now?

Call us and we will take it from there.
