Television makeover programmes leave the impression that a new smile always means a five figure sum and twenty veneers. That is one version of it, and it is not the version most people need. The honest answer to what a smile makeover costs is a range, and where you sit in that range depends on how much needs to change.
It is a plan that combines some of the following, in a sensible order:
The order matters. Straightening first often reduces how much bonding or how many veneers you need afterwards, because teeth in the right position need less added to them to look right.
The full price list is on our fees page.
The gap between a few hundred pounds and several thousand is wide because the work is. Whitening on its own, from £275, changes the whole smile and takes a few weeks. Whitening plus bonding on two front teeth to even up a chipped or flat edge comes to under a thousand pounds and one or two appointments. A full makeover, aligning the teeth first and then rebuilding every tooth that shows when you smile, starts at £3,950 and runs over months.
All three are legitimate, and the smaller one is more often the right answer than people expect. It is worth knowing that composite bonding adds material to the tooth rather than cutting it down, so in most cases little or no natural tooth is removed, and the work can be repaired or replaced later. Porcelain veneers do more, and last longer, but involve preparing the tooth. Neither is better in the abstract. They answer different problems.
Finance is available through Tabeo on treatment plans over £650, interest free over 12 months. A £3,950 makeover becomes twelve monthly payments rather than one bill, at no extra cost. We will set out the monthly figure alongside the total in your written plan, so you can see both before you decide.
The Smile Design consultation is free and there is no obligation to book treatment. We look at the shape and proportion of your teeth and how they sit with your face, talk through what is realistic for your teeth as they are, and give you a written plan with costs and timings to take away.
