Here at Sale Dental Spa we have been providing fantastic care for many of our patients for over 18 years and we offer both NHS Dentistry and private treatment here.

Our Dentist team currently consists of Dr Aisha Ahmed, Principal Dentist and Founder of Sale Dental Spa. We then have Senior Associate Dentist Dr Wajiha Basir and most recently Associate Dentist, Dr Iswarya Kalyan (known as Ish).

They are fully supported by our Dental Hygienist Phil Lucas and the Team of Dental Nurses including Karen Dungey and Trainee Dental Nurse Leah Cross.

We also have Mandi Beesley, our Treatment Co-ordinator, Maddison Ingram, Front of House Manager (who is currently on Maternity Leave) and me, Joanna Lambe, Business Development Manager.

NHS Emergency Dentist

If you are suffering from toothache or tooth pain, there really is no need to suffer and it is safe to say that tooth pain rarely gets better on it’s own (and often gets worse) so please make an appointment to see in office hours so that you don’t get a restless nights sleep before you have to call us and before YOUR tooth pain gets any worse.

The good news is that we still have NHS spaces available for children, however our list of NHS adult patients is now full as at 30 July 2019.

If you are currently one of our NHS patients, then the prices for NHS emergency dentist patients come in three distinct bands which are correct as from from April 2019 to March 2020.

The NHS Dentist charges are outlined below:-

Band 1: £22.70

This fee covers your dental examination, dentist diagnosis and subsequent advice. If it is necessary, it also includes x-rays and a scale and polish, and the planning of further treatment.

Band 2: £62.10

This covers all the treatment outlined in Band 1 above, plus additional treatment, such as any fillings, root canal treatment and removing any teeth (sometimes called extractions).

Band 3: £269.30

This covers all the treatment outlined in Bands 1 and 2 above, plus more complex procedures, such as the placement of crowns, dentures and bridges.

NHS Emergency Dentist Further Treatment

In addition, if you need further treatment within 2 calendar months of completing a course of treatment or you need more treatment from the same or a lower charge band, such as another filling, you do not have to pay anything extra.

However, if the additional treatment needed is in the higher band, you’ll then have to pay for the new NHS course of treatment.

And once 2 months have passed after completing one course of treatment, you’ll have to pay the NHS charge band again for any further NHS dental treatment received.

In addition, certain treatments (including lost items) are guaranteed for 12 months from the date they were completed such as

• fillings
• inlays
• porcelain veneers
• crowns

Treatments provided under this guarantee must be similar or related to your original treatment, but they do not have to be exactly like for like.

Urgent Emergency Dentist Treatment

If you require urgent dentist care, you’ll pay a Band 1 charge of £22.70 and for most patients, urgent treatments can be done in one appointment.

Once your urgent course of treatment is complete, you may be advised to make another appointment for a separate course of non-urgent treatment so in this case, the relevant NHS banding charge will apply too.

There is no NHS charge for the following:-

• denture repairs
• to have stitches removed
• if your dentist has to stop any blood loss
• if your dentist has to write out a prescription for you – however, if you pay for your prescriptions, you’ll have to pay the usual current prescription charge of £9 when you collect your medicine(s).

Private Dentist Fees

If you are keen to maintain good oral health and look after your teeth then you should see your dentist regularly so that any potential dental issues are diagnosed and treated early and any bad habits can be identified and rectified before they become any worse such as teeth grinding (which can lead to headaches and jaw ache) and bad brushing habits which can lead to the build up of plaque and tartar which can cause gum disease.

You can also ask your advice on recommended products such as Sensodyne toothpaste and even try a free sample here from the spa if you are suffering from sensitive teeth and/or gums.

If you are suffering from bleeding gums, Dr Aisha and the team can advise you on the best products to help with this such as Corsodyl toothpaste which aims to stop or prevent bleeding gums.

DenPlan – Dental Health Planning

If you are concerned about the cost of your dental treatment, then we do have a scheme called Denplan which helps to spread the cost of your treatment which is useful when you are budget planning as a charge of £13.99 per month helps to spread the cost over the year and it also helps to ensure you book in to see us regularly as it includes:-

• 2 annual dental health check ups
• 2 annual simple hygiene appointments
• up to 2 x-rays
• worldwide dental injury and emergency cover

These charges currently total £172, however, the cost is just £167.88 over the year.

In addition you will receive 10% off your general dentistry fees including fillings which all helps to ensure you are looking after, and maintaining, your overall oral and dental health.

Sale Dental Spa Price Increases

As the cost of living increases, unfortunately we do have to pass these increases on to our clients. We have, however, maintained our current prices for over 5 years so the increases below have been long overdue.

We hope you understand and continue to value our services.

The new treatment prices refer to the following:-

Dental Health Check Up was £38. From Monday, 2nd September it is £40

Emergency Assessment was £48. From Monday, 2nd September it is £60

Simple Hygiene Appointment was £39. From Monday, 2nd September it is £45

Complex Hygiene Appointment was £57. From Monday, 2nd September it is £65

Cosmetic Polish/Airflow was from £40. From Monday, 2nd September it is from £45
