At Sale Dental, we strive to avoid tooth extractions whenever possible.

However, sometimes, tooth extraction is an unavoidable necessity to ensure the best oral health for our patients.

Why do I need a tooth extraction?

At Sale Dental, we recommend tooth extractions for several reasons, such as badly broken or severely infected teeth, overcrowding, retained baby teeth, or painful wisdom teeth. While we strive to enhance your oral health without tooth extractions, sometimes it is the only viable option to ensure we provide the best care for our patients and their long-term oral health.

What happens during the tooth extraction procedure?

At Sale Dental, our compassionate dentist and nurse team will take the time to explain the tooth extraction procedure to reassure our patients. The gum will be numbed with local anaesthesia, and then, using careful and precise techniques, the tooth will be swiftly removed.

Is it painful?

Nope, as the tooth will be numbed with local anaesthetic beforehand. Our skilled dentists are highly trained to remove the tooth with the greatest of care.

What happens after a tooth extraction?

Before you leave, a clinician will check to ensure you are comfortable and happy. The numbness will begin to wear off in about an hour. It is important not to overexert yourself or smoke in the first 24 hours after treatment. Your treating dentist will discuss this with you in person. Some pain and swelling are normal following a dental extraction. If this persists, you can take painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen.

In May I decided to take action on my oral health and came here to have a consultation to see just what work I needed, knowing I’d need a fair amount so I scheduled an appointment online and was booked in with Hamza.From the beginning he’s been really helpful, kind and professional - knowing I was extremely nervous at the start he worked out a dental plan for me and talked me through it making sure I understood the issues and impact if I was to decide not to fix soon. I never felt pressured he always was clear about how I could schedule the treatment whenever I’m ready so always felt comfortable and armed with the information needed to make decisions on my treatment.It’s 7 months later and I’ve had 3 sessions of work with 2 more to go, I can honestly say that Hamza is passionate about his work and I can tell he’s a perfectionist. He won’t ever rush the work and will clearly state the steps he’s taking when you’re in the chair and can’t talk, i feel like I’ve learnt so much about my teeth - I’m never left wondering about any of it or what the next session will entail which I love. He stops if I make any signal that I’m in discomfort and is keen to make sure I’m ok throughout.I’ve always dreaded the dentist but now I really don’t, Hamza and his assistant Zara are always so pleasant, calming and caring and as weird as it sounds I’m always so relaxed in that dentist chair which are words I never thought I’d say!I do recommend this place, facilities are nice and clean.

My teeth and mouth feel incredibly clean and fresh.Over the years Sale Dental Spanish have always been about preventative maintenance and their advice and treatment is second to none.

Excellent experience from start to finish at Sale dental spa today. A very warm welcome at reception from Vittoria and the best hygiene appointment with Zainab and Bella putting me at ease and giving a very comfortable treatment despite me being nervous. Would highly recommend.

You won’t get a better service than what the team at Sale dental spa provide, they are all fantastic. I have just finished my 16 month Invisalign treatment, finished with composite bonding and the transformation has given me my confidence back.
